There are two ways to make money on the platform - gaining subscribers, and then selling your subscribers locked content via the private DM messaging system built into the website.

It is a requirement that if a user wants to have the privilege of messaging you privately and talking to you via DM, they must subscribe to you. We recommend starting off with a very small monthly subscription of $3.99 or $4.99 to attract as many subscribers as possible. Over time you can get a sense of what’s happening and decide if you want to charge a higher subscription price. Subscriptions are the initial piece of the monetization funnel. Most of the revenue on the platform is generated chatting with users privately via DM, getting them engaged with you in chat, and then selling them locked content within those conversations. A rough general breakdown for most creators will bw 10-20% of the money they earned is via subscriptions, and 80-90% of the money is earned by chatting with the users and then selling them locked content inside of those conversations.

Subscriptions

There are 2 main benefits to subscriptions to users. The first is your profile page will contain profile wall posts. These are general messages that include a combination of text, photos, or videos. You have the ability to make these wall posts free for everyone (followers & sbuscribers), or locked (only available to subscribers or followers who pay your token price to unlock that one post). The first benefit of a subscriber is they automatically get access to all of your locked wall posts. The site offers a Scheduler for Wall Posts allowing you schedule your wall posts as far in advance as you want. Consistency is key here. For example, if you wanted to ensure 1 wall post goes up every 3 days, you can sit down and schedule a month’s worth of wall posts, or 10 posts every 3 days, all at once, without having to manually do it every three days on your own.

When you upload content, we determine if that content is Safe for Work, or Not Safe For Work (more information on this found here: https://support.favoritely.com/creators.html#sfw-vs-nsfw) . As a matter of site policy, all NSFW content is automatically locked and can never be offered for free, even if the creator sets it for free.

The second benefit of a subscriber is they are now permitted to privately DM you, and have a conversation with you. Within that conversation you sell them locked content.

Locked Content / Private DMs

Setting up a Default DM Message

You can set up a default DM message under settings at Auto Direct Message. This means when you a user subscribes to you, or follows you, you can automatically send a pre-set message with with text, photos, and videos. That subscriber will then get a notification they have an unread message from you. Many creators use this default message to welcome them, to explain any rules of their chat, to thank them for subscribing or following. The possibilities are endless and are only limited by your creativity. We recommend testing and trying out different things. Some things we have seen are some creators let them know that messages with a tip are answered first or are required to get a reply back. Others provide a sexy welcome video thanking them for subscribing. Setting up this Default DM message is very important, because it’s extremely important to get your subscribers engaged with you chatting on the platform. If the users are not engaged and chatting with you on the platform, it’s going to be really difficult to sell them locked content.

Locked Content

Once you are engaged in a private conversation and you feel comfortable, you can send any user a message with locked content. The content can be any combination of videos and images. You then set a price and you also have the ability to see what images or thumb previews they can see before they buy it. What the end user will see is any text you’ve attached in the message, and how many videos, images, and the duration of the video, with a locked over it and the price. At that point, the user makes a decision as to whether they want to pay your price to unlock the content. As a reminder, creators earn 8 cents per tokens. For best results, these conversations should ideally feel natural and personal, and not transactional. Engaged customers whom they feel the creator is showing interest in them are more likely to buy your locked content and tip you, and perhaps become a regular of yours on the platform, continue to buy more of your content over time and maintaining their subscription.

Mass DM Campaigns

Mass DM campaigns allow you to send out messages to all of your followers, subscribers, or both. We highly recommend using this tool to start and initiate conversations which helps get your fans engaged with you on the platform.

Managing Content

Upload all content in Advance

Upload all your content to the Media section in advance before you need it. Because content needs to be checked for bank compliance reasons, wait times vary from as little as 15 minutes to as high as 24 hours.

Take Advantage of the Schedulers Consistency is key. This is all about getting your followers engaged to be subscribers, getting your subscribers engaged in chatting with you, so that you can bring them through the funnel of Becoming a Follower -> Subscription -> Purchaser of Locked Content.
